Besides our passion for hand-painted shoes, we also have a passion for funky jewelery. Sometimes we make our own and they turn out horribly, but this one’s so easy there really is no excuse to go out and pay for something like this.

Stuff you need:
- scrap pieces of leather
- 2 hoops
- 1 lobster claw
- 1 old chain
1. Find scrap pieces of leather (I cut mine off of a skirt that I made shorter)
2. Cut leather into rectangle of whatever size you please
3. Cut fringes into the leather. Basically cut straight strips but leave around 1 cm at the end attached.
4. Poke holes using a thick needle near the upper corner of the leather. (Upper being the part where all the pieces are attached)
5. Attach a hoop to each hole (I used hoops left over from the minipunkz project)
6. Attach lobster claw to one of the hoops
7. Find an old chain that you don’t really wear anymore and attach it to the necklace (hoop to lobster claw)
8. Attach additional dangling bits to hoops
9. Wear it!

Once in a while, I like to mix patterns. So for the second post of how we wear our shoes, I decided to mix a little animal print with stripes. A little pattern never hurt anyone, right?

Having trouble visualizing outfits around our shoes?
Lots of people tell us they have trouble matching non-neutral colors. My advice is to start slow. Try mixing one bright color into your otherwise neutral outfit. It doesn’t have to be over the top, an accent color is enough to make a statement.
Below is an example of how we wear our shoes.

Spatz: A type of shoe accessory that covers your ankle and the top half of the front of your feet. They were originally worn as part of military uniforms in the 19th and 20th century and are still worn with some uniforms. (I think the Scotts still wear them but I’ll have to double check that fact.)
Anyway, I got mine online via Etsy but instead of wearing them properly, I rolled the front of the spats back coz I like the way that looked. The combo was very eye-catching and probably not for the faint of heart.

Mohops: Shoes I ordered online. The beauty of these shoes is that they come with a set of ribbons which you can tie any way you like. I went to Dressews to pick up additional ribbons coz I’m really liking neon colors right now. The ribbons I have on are double-sided and I can wear them reversed. I also made an extra piece using white elastic that I placed right in the center to create the T look that’s so big right now. If you like to change your look often and is creative enough to come up with different ways of looping the ribbons, these are the shoes for you~!

Socks: I don’t really understand why people don’t wear socks with their heels. I mean, we wear them with our leggings and our tights, so why not heels? Plus, it saves time for lazy people like me who don’t bother getting a proper pedicure. I happened to come across lace socks the other day after searching high and low for socks I wouldn’t mind showing. I was originally thinking of semi-opaque socks in orange or mustard yellow, but since I haven’t found any yet, I’ll settle for these lace ones from Aldo.
