So a few nights ago I attended the Vancouver leg of the Etsy Tour. It was great fun meeting all these wonderful Vancouver artisans. I’ve gone through the stores of everyone I had a chance to speak with and selected my favorite item from each store to show off here.
Love these dramatic earrings from Wild Heather. What girl doesn’t like shiny things? Heather’s designs are also available at Crave Boutique in South Surrey.

Usually, I’m not a fan of the little monsters that go through my garbage but this one is just so cute! A Wee Little Racoon by A Cagey Bee.

Cool collages made from vintage prints. Soundtrack for a radiant future by Living Feral.

If I had more hair I would definitely get one of these girly head pieces by Sugar Lotus.

Photography by sky of the sky. Taken from a women’s washroom in NYC. This is something I should be constantly reminding myself of.

Ada and I love junk food. We love chocolate, we love burgers, and we love ice cream. But since it’s short shorts season, we gotta lay off the 1000 calories snacks, so instead, we satisfied ourselves by ordering some junk online.
Yummy!

The pizza is especially deceptive:

Look at that burnt crust!
Pizza and Taco coin purses available on modcloth.

It’s been a while since our last sneak peek! Here’s what we’ve been working on:

This pair was done for Cindy who wanted something one of a kind as her best friend’s birthday gift. The theme of these shoes is cherry blossoms. In the background, you see peonies done in Chinese paper cut outs style. This was taken as the shoes were near completion. After this shot, I added further details to the cherry blossoms and added pearl accents.

This pair by Ada was created for Emilie who will be wearing them on her wedding day to match a beautiful white and green gown! The shoes are based on Ada’s Raincity but instead of the waves, abstract hearts were incorporated into the design.

This pair was done for Sheila who was one of the winners of our “Submit Your Own Design” contest!
Here’s the original sketch:

Stay tuned for our next sneak peek!

Having trouble visualizing outfits around our shoes?
Lots of people tell us they have trouble matching non-neutral colors. My advice is to start slow. Try mixing one bright color into your otherwise neutral outfit. It doesn’t have to be over the top, an accent color is enough to make a statement.
Below is an example of how we wear our shoes.
