We recently completed a pair of shoes for Fiona’s wedding. The theme of her wedding was the ocean and her flowers were orchids so we incorporated them into her shoes. Congratulations Fiona!

Though the live news coverage have subsided, survivors of the March 11 earthquake in Japan are still struggling. We’re trying to do our part by donating two pairs of shoes to the FMAid: Rock For Japan event.

When: April 27th. Doors will open at 8 pm.
Where: Venue Nightclub 881 Granville Street, Vancouver BC.

I recently came across some beautiful fans by a Beijing-based designer, illustrator and photographer named Yong Sun.

I like all of them but…this last quirky one is probably my favorite.

Make an iPad/iPhone/iPod Self-Portrait!

Here’s a funny self-portrait I did one day when I was sitting around with an iPad:

I like how It’s super easy to do and I love the completely unglamorous result!

Got some free time to spare and wanna do one of yourself? Here’s how:

1) Download a free drawing app such as Adobe Ideas.

2) Open the app and paint the background black. That will make the surface of your iPad/iPhone/iPod shiny like a mirror!

3) If you really want to, you can use that shiny mirror and admire how cute you look for a few seconds before starting.

4) Now make sure you are far away enough from your iPad/iPhone/iPod so that your face can be seen (or the part you want to draw can be seen).

5) Trace your facial features using any color you like (except black).

6) Viola! A self portrait is born!

Just came back from a whirlwind two week trip to China. (When I say just, I mean over two weeks ago, because I’m a slow-ass).

While Ada slaved away in Vancouver, I went on vacation, saw some really amazing things and took some cool photos that I want to share with you all. (To thank her for all her hard work, I bought Ada a cookbook in hopes that she will cook me something later on.)

Beautiful landscape from the bank of Yangshuo’s something something river (haha..I swear I will update the river’s name when I remember what it’s called).

Funky teddy bears in a very old school Chinese print from Shanghai’s Taikong alley.

The great wall of China. This was a must see as the Chinese say “A person who has not been to the Great wall will never be great”. Hahah…

A view of the famous “broken” bridge from a cheap little boat in Hangzhou’s West Lake.

A photo of a food stall I passed by in Xian’s Muslim market (though there was nothing Muslim about that market.)
